Who we are
IRL Culture is a newsletter and cultural curation platform operated by Growth Haus LLC. We publish weekly festival and nightlife guides across New York, Portugal, London, and São Paulo. Our website is irlculture.com.
What data we collect
When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect:
- Your email address
- Your name (optional, where requested)
- Your city (optional, where requested)
We also collect standard analytics data via Google Analytics 4, including pages visited, time on site, device type, and approximate location (country/city level). This data is aggregated and not linked to your identity.
How we use your data
- To send you the IRL Culture newsletter (only if you subscribed)
- To improve our content and understand what resonates with our readers
- To analyse site traffic and optimise the user experience
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-party services
We use the following third-party services:
- Substack — newsletter delivery and subscriber management. Your email is stored and processed by Substack in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymised site analytics. Data is processed by Google in accordance with their privacy policy.
- Vercel — website hosting. May collect server logs and performance data.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies set by Google Analytics to track visit patterns. These are analytics cookies only — we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via your browser settings or a browser extension such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on.

Data retention
We retain subscriber data for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. Analytics data is retained for 14 months as per Google Analytics defaults. If you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from our systems within 30 days.
